The vertical direction of wells can never be guaranteed to be perfect. To avoid the possibility of the hose chafing against the wall, centreing devices should be used, one near the pump and the rest at 50 metre intervals up the riser. The device is attached by utilising an unused loop on the jacket cover.

Although Oroflex 60 is made from tough materials giving a high degree of mechanical strength, care must be taken to ensure no un-necessary damage to the hose. Once the couplings have been fitted at each end and the cables securely attached, installation can begin. Position and fix the roller in the mouth of the well and begin to introduce the hose through the rollers. At all times make sure that the hose and cables do not rub or catch against any sharp objects or casings. The clamp/hook-up device should now be attached to the hose, again, ensure no sharp or protruding edges are apparent. It is important to ensure that the support cable is of sufficient strength to carry all hose, pump and electric cabes.

It is very important not to bend or lean anything against the hose clamps as this may jeopardise the integrity of the end coupling.

Oroflex 60 does not need any specific maintenance. Whenever pump maintenance is carried out, take time to check that the threads are tight and that all bolts as securely fastened. A final check that all cables along the hose are properly secured should be carried out.
It is important that disinfectants are not used in conjunction with Oroflex 60. Should the well need to be disinfected, then remove the hose assembly first.

When hose is in storage, keep it protected from sunlight and in a dry environment. Whenever possible, try not to crease or fold the hose when in storage.
